Serenity Funeral Home Obituaries: Remembering Rex Alan Coward

Rex Alan Coward, a talented musician and devoted husband and father, left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone he touched. Born on 'date', Rex passed away on October 11, 2021, at the age of 56, leaving behind a legacy of love, music, and cherished memories.

Rex is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Glenda Coward, who was his rock and constant companion throughout their life together. He also leaves behind three children: Connie Skinner, Carol Zurek, and Jerry Hendryx; six grandchildren, including Johnathan Blankenship's children Velli and Emmi, Joe Hill's children Luna Elizabeth and Gavin Woolsey, and Eddie Hill's sons Sonny, Myles, Eli, and Asher; and a great-granddaughter, Gabriela Blankenship.

In addition to his family, Rex is also survived by his siblings, Sam Coward and Carolyn Weeks, as well as numerous godchildren, including Zack Blazio and Danielle Rose. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sammy and Carolyn Coward, brother Michael Wayne Coward, and grandparents Chet and Mildred.

A celebration of Rex's life will take place on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church, where he was a devoted member and played drums in the church band. His family invites friends to join them for an evening of reminiscing and sharing stories about Rex's remarkable life.

Rex was known for his incredible talent as a musician, often playing the guitar and performing with various bands over the years. He had a special gift for bringing people together through music, and his love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life.

Throughout his life, Rex demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his loved ones, always putting their needs before his own. His family will deeply miss him but take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, surrounded by the love and light he brought into their lives.
